After sadly missing the 2011 gala, due to the engine being out of the pop, we hapily returned for the 2012 gala and for the first time, we managed to stay over the weekend , rather than the usual one day visit. Early on saturday morning, most of the site was covered in fog and the chance was taken to take a few pictures on the field railway. The field railway was a brilliant idea, which bought back memories for a lot of us that had visited similar railways when it was still possible to do so. On the "main line" the passenger and frieght trains were handled by the following. "Marchlyn" Avonside 2067 built 1933 [visiting].
GP39 Hudswell Clarke 1643 built 1930 [visiting].
"Stanhope " Kerr Stuart 2395 built 1917.
3014 Kerr Stuart 3014 built 1916.
With a number of excellent layouts , plus various vintage vehicles, ranging from motorbikes, cars and buses , through to a Aveling Porter steam tractor, there was , as usual, plenty for everybody to see and enjoy. The gallery is aranged with the railway first, followed by the model railway's and ending with the road transport on display.
